August 15, 2025: Vietnam Begins Visa Exemption for Citizens of 12 Countries

[On This Date] From August 15, 2025, through August 14, 2028, Vietnam grants visa-free entry to citizens of 12 countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland.

Under Resolution No. 229/NQ-CP, travelers from these nations are granted a temporary stay of up to 45 days upon entry for tourism purposes, provided they meet all applicable entry requirements.

This policy facilitates travel, boosts competitiveness, and helps Vietnam attract high-spending European visitors seeking longer stays. In the first seven months of 2026, Vietnam welcomed over 13.9 million international arrivals, a 13.8% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

Several European markets recorded strong growth, led by Poland (up over 51%), the Czech Republic (nearly 29%), and Switzerland (almost 22%). Alongside route expansions, product diversification, and intensified promotional campaigns, this relaxed visa policy continues to elevate Vietnam’s tourism appeal and position within Asia.
